Paper:  Medium weight paper.

Printing method:  Raised printing (thermography). See question 2 on our FAQ page to learn more about the different printing methods.

Ink:  Extensive choice at no extra charge.  Click here to see the available ink colors.  Second color ink available for an additional charge of $35 plus $10 per 25.

Typestyles:  Extensive choice of typestyles.  Click here to see the available typestyles.

Foreign language:  You may use any foreign language using the English alphabet for a $25 charge. A printer's proof will be provided.

Hebrew:  $20 for the first line and $10 for each additional line. A printer's proof is included in the price. Click here to see instructions and Hebrew letter typestyles.

Monograms:  Add a monogram for no additional charge if printed in the same ink color as your text.  Click here to see the available monograms.  On order form, specify where you would like the monogram placed.

Motifs:  Add a stock motif for no additional charge if printed in the same ink color as your text.  Click here to see the available designs.  On order form, specify where you would like the design placed. The layout artists will use their discrection in sizing the motif.

Ribbons and Bows:  Ribbons and bows are available and are included in the price only if shown on the sample.

Logos and Customer Artwork:  Checkerboard can reproduce your artwork for $35 per image. An additional charge applies to print in a different color. See "Ink," above, for second ink color pricing. A printer's proof is required. See "Faxed Proof," below, for details. There are two ways to deliver your images to us for processing: physical and digital. Physical: Your artwork must be scan-ready. Scan-ready means clear, clean black & white line art with no shades of gray. You can mail the logo or artwork to us. Digital: File must be in a TIFF or PDF format, with a resolution of 300 dpi for grayscale and at least 600 dpi for black and white. If you are sending a logo with thin lines or fine details, resolution should be at least 800 dpi. Please compress large files using the ZIP format before emailing. We do accept JPEG files when necessary, but you need to select the highest file quality possible when saving the file or you will lose detail and clarity in your art.

Photos:  Photos can be reproduced.  They will be flat printed in the same ink color as your text, unless you indicate otherwise. Checkerboard charges $45 to reproduce a photo. To deliver your photo to us, follow the physical/digital logo and artwork delivery instructions above. Please select the ink color that you wish to have the photo printed in.  (Black ink will give a black & white appearance to your photo  Brown ink will give the photo a sepia look.)  If you wish to have it printed in a different a different ink color than the color your text will be printed in, please add the two-color printing charge described above in addition to the photo charge.

Envelope colors:  Single, unlined, white or cream wallet flap envelopes to match invitation are included with each order. Printed envelope flaps are available at an additional charge (see table above for pricing).

Upgraded envelopes: French and Bavarian flap envelopes are available (double envelopes not available).

Envelope linings:  Extensive choice of envelope linings available.  Click here to see the available envelope linings.

Double envelopes:  Available for most items. See table above for pricing. If you order double envelopes and also order envelope linings, only the inside envelope will be lined.

Extra envelopes:  Order extra regular flap envelopes at $15 per 25 plus the cost of printed return addresses, if ordered. Additional charge for extra French or Bavarian flap envelopes ($1 per envelope plus printed return addresses, if ordered) will be added to your credit card authorization at the time your order is shipped.

Thank-you cards and enclosure and other cards: Please note that some invitations are shown with matching thank-you notes, response cards and other enclosure cards. For other invitations there are plain or embossed bordered white or cream cards to use as response cards or other enclosure cards:

Response card:  Click here to see an example.  Use the small card which matches your invitation (if one is shown as being available) or a plain white or cream small card.  Your return address will be printed on the front of the envelopes in the same typestyle and ink color as is used on the card.

Reception card:  Click here to see an example.  Use the small card which matches your invitation or a plain white or cream small card.  Use to inform your guests of a later reception.  Envelopes generally are not necessary.

Thank you notes:  Click here to see an example.  White or cream foldover notes are available. Use -139 price group for the plain informal and -149 for the embossed border informal.  In addition, any of the small flat cards that are shown as response cards may be used as flat thank you cards with your name printed at the top.

Directions card:  Click here to see an example.  Your directions can be printed on a white or cream small card.  Up to 25 lines of text are included in the price. Use -149 pricing from the table above to determine your price.

Map card:  Click here to see an example.  Your map and 5 lines of text may be printed on a plain white or cream card.  Use -119 pricing in the table above to determine your pricing. The price includes the cost of scanning the map.

Two-sided Map card:  Your map will be printed on one side and your directions on the second side. Use -239 from the table above to determine pricing.

Parking card:  Let your guests know that complementary parking is available on a white or cream small card.  Use price code -98 from the table above to determine pricing.

Printer's proof:  Faxed black & white proof available:  $15 for first proof; $12 for each additional proof.  (If you do not have a fax number, we can email an image file of your proof.)

Reorders:  A 25 card minimum is required for all reorders.  Reorders are priced as new orders and are billed according to the price sheet above.  Be sure to order enough the first time!

Delivery time:  To determine your Delivery Time, add your order's Proofing Time, Printing Time and Shipping Time, as follows (all times are best estimates and are not guaranteed):

   Proofing Time: 3 business days.

   Printing Time:

Standard: 10 business days.

Rush: 2-3 business days after proof approval. $55 for orders of up to 500 invitations.

Ground:  varies from up to 10 business days, depending upon how far you are from the printing location in Massachusetts.  We don't charge you for UPS ground shipping on orders totaling $400 or more.  (If the order is less than $400, shipping is $8 per order.)

3 business day UPS:  $15 and up.

2 business day UPS:  $20 and up.

Next business day UPS:  $30 and up.

International Shipping: The shipping costs shown above are for deliveries within the continental US. Costs will be greater for deliveries to other destinations. International customers are responsible for any customs duties of the destination country. Customs documents will show package contents as "merchandise-stationery" and the value shown will be the purchase price of your order.
